Looking for a way to truly appreciate the spirit of the season… join us for the 2017 Carry Your Cross 5K, 1K Kid’s Run, and Little Kid’s (Ages 2-5) Fun Run -Saturday April 15th. 5K participants carry a 4ft length of 2×4 lumber across your back for the final 2/10 of a mile – uphill!CarryYourCrossPic5K001

Run solo or with your Church Team Challenge teammates.
Teams of four run on behalf of your church. The best team will win the Carry Your Cross Team Trophy and bragging rights for one year as fastest church team.  The Church Team Challenge will be judged on a total combined place finish and in the event of a tie, a total combined time finish. The hosts have issued a challenge to all area churches….. the church with the most participants in the 5K will win the Church Challenge and a $500 gift made to payable to the winning church in support of their Mission projects. Corkscrew & Brew 5K

The 7th annual Corkscrew 5K, held in conjunction with SAVOR Blowing Rock , combines road racing and wine (or, if you prefer, walking and wine). Join us at the fabulous Chetola Resort for super fun weekend.

SCHEDULE

Friday – May 3rd:

4:00 – 7:00pm  Early packet pick up and onsite registration in the Recreation Center

Saturday – May 4th:

8:00 – 8:50am Walk-up registration and packet pick-up

9:00am 5K Run/Walk START

FEES

Wine & Beer Free 5K: $25 in advance, $35 morning of the race
Wine & Beer Lovers 5K:  (includes 4 wine/beer stations along the route): $30 in advance, $40 morning of the race. [Must be 21 to enter this division; wrist bands will be given out and are required to be worn during race.]

LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRT

Free to runners who register by April 10, and while supplies last for late registrants

COURSE

An accurately measured, winding and scenic run through Chetola Resort. Check out the course map.

Awards given to Overall Male and Female, Master Male and Female, and the Top 2 in the following age groups:

Wine Free: under 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
Wine Lovers: 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Door prizes include wine, beer, wine/beer-related items, t-shirts, running accessories, massages from the Spa at Chetola Resort, tickets to Blowing Rock Chamber events and more.

Not a runner? We welcome walkers as well! Or be a spectator and cheer on the participants while enjoying the to-go breakfast bar and the Bloody Mary / Mimosa bar set up on Timberlake’s patio from 7:30am-10am.
