The 4th Annual Spook 5K Run/Walk is hosted by Swain County DSS‘s non-profit Together We Raise – a non-profit organization that benefits the Elderly and Foster Care Children of Swain County.

The Venue: the beautiful Darnell Farms [2300 Governors Island Rd, Bryson City, NC 28713]. We get to join the fun at their [checkout activities – hayrides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, etc. Wow!]. So y’all come out before/after the 5K for some super family fun!!

Awards to the Top 3 Overall Male & Female Finishers

Girls on the Run of WNC 5K – Fall

Chase your dreams and celebrate all girls being joyful, healthy, and confident at the Great Beginnings & Great Smiles Girls on the Run of WNC Fall 5K run and walk! It is family-friendly and open to the public. The 5K will be chip timed by Event Mercenaries, Inc.  Runners and walkers of all ages and paces are encouraged to run or walk. 

Join hundreds of girls in grades 3-8 from throughout Western North Carolina, who have trained with volunteer coaches for the past 10 weeks, to participate in their celebratory end-of-season 5K. The Girls on the Run program combines running with lessons about important topics such as preventing bullying and processing emotions.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Girls on the Run of WNC scholarship fund, which aims to make the non-profit’s program accessible to all girls in the community, regardless of their ability to pay the program fee.

Schedule:

All participants who register by Thursday, November 7, 2019 are guaranteed to receive an event t-shirt at Runner Check-In. For registrations received after November 7th, t-shirts are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last.

It is family-friendly and open to the public. We are chip-timing the 5K this spring for the FIRST TIME! Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to register. 

Join hundreds of girls in grades 3-8 from throughout Western North Carolina, who have trained with volunteer coaches for the past 10 weeks, to participate in their spring celebratory end-of-season 5K. The Girls on the Run program combines running with lessons about important topics such as preventing bullying and processing emotions.
